The Location: Beijing, China
The Team / The Business: S&P is establishing a local ratings business in People's Republic of China that will support China's policy goals of financial market reform, increased foreign participation in the domestic capital markets, RMB internationalization and the Belt and Road Initiative. We will operate with a credit rating scale, methodologies and practices customized for the local needs while improving transparency and introducing rigorous standards needed to promote positive change in the country's financial sector.
For this we are setting up a new team of talented analysts to support and grow the business and most importantly lay a strong foundation for the newly established business.
Analytical team members will reside in Beijing, covering a broad range of sectors.
The Role: You will perform in-depth credit analysis and support the delivery of analytical insight to internal and external audiences in an international working environment.
The Impact: You will be part of the team to provide key stakeholders with our value-added "credit story" on governments and related entities through insightful opinions and strong analysis.
Your Skills: You have genuine interest in analyzing local and regional governments, initiative in solving problems and good sense of compliance. Bachelor degree is required. A basic understanding of the financial bond market or a background in economics/credit analysis is expected. Strong communication skills are required.
Perform credit analysis based on S&P Ratings (China) methodology
Support senior analysts to deliver presentations and participate in meetings with company officials, senior management of related entities clients and rating users
Support the production of entity specific reports and market commentaries in a fast paced environment with publication deadlines
Contribute in global and regional analytical projects and working groups
Articulate analytical findings and recommendations in a logical and coherent manner
Imbibe positive compliance culture within the team and abide by all company and government policies
Demonstrate service excellence and professionalism towards external and internal clients
Bachelor degree in Economics, Finance and/or Accounting or a related subject,
Holder of CFA Designation is preferable
1-2 years of research or relevant analytical experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, and Mandarin
Good knowledge of APAC's financial markets, governmental systems and regulatory environment
Strong numeric skills with knowledge in financial analysis and accounting
Self-driven, energetic and proactive
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and a busy environment
Ability to work in a team-oriented, global, multi-cultural environment
