The Position: Applications are currently being accepted for an Education Advisor, located at Beale AFB, California.
Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.
Major Responsibilities: Primary duties of adjunct faculty members are related to curriculum and teaching; the assignment is divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Adjunct instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class.Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.Teach all scheduled classes.Maintain accurate records.Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment which emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues.
Qualifications: Degrees must be from a Regionally accredited American college or University.1. Applicants shall have a bachelors degree in education or counseling-related field or a minimum of two years of CCAF equivalent advisory and customer service experience.2. Knowledge of/experience with standardized educational and military testing/electronic testing programs is required.3. Excellent customer service skills and verbal communication skills.4. Appropriate related professional work or volunteer experience of at least one year in Air Force Education and Training programs within the last 3 years.5. Must be possess basic typing skills at a minimum 45 words per minute (WPM). An online certificate verifying minimum WPM must be provided.6. General computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).7. Applicant shall be able to pass a background check.8. Applicant shall be able to be granted access to a military installation by ensuring the pass and identification items required for obtained for employees and non-government owned vehicles IAW AFFARS 5352.242-9000 Contractor Access to Air Force Installations.
Desired Qualifications: 1. Appropriate related professional work or volunteer experience of at least one year in Air Force Education and Training programs within the last 3 years. 2. Knowledge of/experience with Air Force terminology, office procedures, and educational programs, plus familiarity/facility with Microsoft Office programs is highly desirable. 3. Applicant has an active security clearance. 4. Technical Certification in field of expertise. 5. Navy Certified Instructor, Journeymen Instructor Certificate, Master Training Specialist or equivalent is recommended
Pay Information: At the time that an offer of assignment is made, proper salary placement is contingent upon receipt of OFFICIAL (sealed) transcripts. Instructors with advanced coursework shall be placed on the appropriate class and step on the Adjunct College Salary Schedules, effective the first month following receipt (in Human Resources) of the official transcripts. Initial salary placement will be at the first class/step until official transcripts have been submitted.
