Department of Accounting & Finance, School of Business, St. John Fisher College, Rochester, New York, invites nominations and applications for a full time Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Finance, starting fall 2018. Accredited by AACSB International, the School of Business at St. John Fisher College offers majors in Marketing, Management, Human Resource Management, Accounting and Finance. There are approximately 660 undergraduates enrolled in these majors and an additional 150 students enrolled in the MBA program.

Candidates from all areas of finance are encouraged to apply. Teaching and research topics include but are not limited to corporate finance, investments, banking, financial derivatives, and personal and behavioral finance. The committee will evaluate the suitability of the candidate based on evidence of teaching effectiveness as well as the dissertation and/or published research in these areas. The successful candidate will teach primarily at the undergraduate level. Faculty in the department carry a three-three teaching load and are expected to show a commitment to teaching. They are also expected to engage in scholarship to build and maintain a strong publication record, advise students and perform service to the college and the profession.
Education / Experience:
Applications are invited from candidates who have completed a Ph.D. or DBA in Finance from an AACSB Accredited School of Business. Candidates who are ABD will be considered if the evidence shows that the degree will be in hand by the end of the fall 2018 semester. Faculty who show a commitment to engaging with external constituents are preferred as St. John Fisher College has a robust commitment to community engagement. Also, industry experience is a plus.
Competencies / Skills:
Successful candidates will demonstrate the capacity to produce and publish original scholarship in refereed journals to enable classification as “Scholarly Academic” under the guidelines of AACSB International. The requirements for scholarship must be met and maintained for the School's AACSB accreditation. Successful candidates will also demonstrate the ability to be an effective teacher, a collaborative team player, and demonstrate a commitment to community engagement. St. John Fisher College supports scholarship in several ways including a yearly grant to faculty, and a competitive school-wide grant that is available to faculty applicants. The College also provides administrative help in securing external funding for research. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US, and available to start teaching in fall 2018.
