Full Time - Experienced
The successful candidates (multiple positions) will serve as counselors who are able to effectively communicate with individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds, including enlisted personnel, officers, senior military and civilian leadership, spouses and other family members. Candidates must be well-versed in crisis debriefing, individual and family counseling, case management, and training. Counselors will be able to develop, prepare and present formal briefings and speeches to leadership. Counselors will be required to travel approximately 50% of the time and will be able to provide counseling services during non-standard work hours, as needed. Candidates must understand the Military Health System, TRICARE, and VA as it pertains to active duty and reserve component Soldiers.
Successful candidates must live near or be willing to relocate to the following locations: Colorado Springs, CO; Honolulu, HI; Waco, TX; El Paso, TX; Woodbridge, VA; Atlanta, GA; Savannah, GA; Louisville, KY; Atlanta, GA; Miami, FL; Arlington, VA; West Point, NY; Pyeongtaek, South Korea; Nuremberg, Germany; Kaiserslaughtern, Germany
You are comfortable providing short-term problem resolution counseling, training and crisis debriefing. You can effectively work with clients in a consultative manner, think holistically about their concerns and making appropriate referrals to other services and resources when necessary.
All counselors shall be Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW-C) with a Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in social work.
Shall have a minimum of six years full-time counseling experience post-licensure; documented counseling supervision, oversight, and management experience.
Shall have a valid unrestricted license from a State, the District of Columbia, a U.S. Commonwealth, or a U.S. Territory that grants authority to provide counseling services as an independent practitioner. All counselors must be licensed in the state where he/she is physically located and have adequate knowledge of the state laws governing mental health issues and clinical practice for the population they are serving.
Shall be able to practice at the independent level without requiring state mandated clinical supervision and demonstrate a working knowledge of professional standards and ethics regarding the delivery of social work services.
Must have experience in brief behavioral interventions, critical incident event management, public speaking, and case management.
Shall have or be covered by professional liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence; $3,000,000 aggregate.
Shall possess proven experience and qualifications in working with law enforcement personnel and an understanding of military lifestyle and culture.
In the event of a critical incident the counselor(s) assigned to the area within which the event occurs will be responsible for responding to the site.
