The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Security Reception Officer. As a Security Reception Officer, you will serve as the first point of contact and the first impression of a high profile client. It is essential that this individual possess an advanced sense of customer service, as well as an outgoing personality and excellent written and oral communication skills. The Security Reception Officer will meet and greet people at all levels and must know how to escalate and deescalate situations with the ability to expedite and resolve problems with poise and a professional demeanor.
The Security Reception Officer will, at times, provide back up to the client's full-time receptionist and, therefore, must be knowledgeable in answering inbound calls and gain an in-depth knowledge of the client's departments to ensure rapid routing of calls. The Security Reception Officer will also perform badging and access control activities throughout the workday as well as perform other duties as specified in post orders.

Specific Duties and Essential Functions
Serve as first point of contact for employees and visitors at a high-profile client site; meet and greet people at all levels
Answer incoming phone calls and ensure rapid routing of calls to various departments
Create and issue access badges; monitor and control access/egress to site
Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
Sound alarms or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits
Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post
Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
The Ideal Candidate:
Education, Licenses and Certifications Required
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to pass any state-required training or other qualifications for licensing
Must possess, or be able to obtain, a current and valid driver's license
Type and Length of Specific Experience Required
Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of in depth and sustained assignment in a corporate office environment serving as a private physical security officer with customer service responsibilities
Work history must include demonstration of each of the following:
Understanding of access control systems and surveillance technology
Knowledge of access control systems and closed-circuit television (CCTV)
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
Effective oral and written communication skills
Active listening skills
Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
Attention to detail
Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
Must have demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
Physical Requirements and Environment
Environment: Indoor; minimal to no exposure to extreme cold and heat is expected
Major activity: Sitting, computer use, Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing
Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, and sitting. Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
