We have several exciting opportunities for MRI Technologists to fill open shifts at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System in Minneapolis, MN that offers a rewarding and unique opportunity to give back to our nation's veterans. Below is a summary of the responsibilities, required education, experience and skills we're looking for in the best-fit candidate for this highly desirable opportunity with very competitive pay and full benefits.
Ensures sterile supplies, contrast media and other materials are set-up and readily available prior to the procedures
Operates both the 1.5 T MRI machine and the 3T MRI machine
Interviews patient for for metal history, demographic accuracy, and patient education prior to procedure.
Positions the patient within the MRI monitoring patients during all phases of appropriate examination(s), and removing patient from the respective system upon completion of the data and/or imaging acquisition.
Administers contrast media and medications under the direction and supervision of the staff radiologist(s) and conferring with the radiologist(s) to establish requirements with reference to contrast agents, vital signs, medications, and physiological monitoring.
Assists and develops training programs for new technologist(s), physician(s), resident(s), and general clinical staff in the MRI suite
Assists physicians and other employees in the development and execution of procedure manual(s) and in devising and modifying procedures as necessary to include research protocols.
Maintains records as necessary to validate research project or funding grant.
Establishes and monitors quality control programs for these sections and maintains operational logs, service and maintenance reports.
Maintains imaging files on patients, clinical analysis, computer data, Picture Archival and Communication System (PACS).
Education and Experience :
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be ARRT Certified
Must hold current and valid BLS and ACLS certifications
Must have minimum of 3 years experience in the last 5 years
Must be experienced in working with Tesla 1.5T and 3T equipment
