Senior Manager, Total Rewards
Location of Position: Mississauga
The Senior Manager, Total Rewards will report to the HR Director.
Reporting to the HR Director, the Senior Manager, Total Rewards provides strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of Total Rewards philosophy and programs including base salary, variable pay, pension, benefits, recognition, and health & wellness. Leads the development and management of HCMS systems, data management, analytics and reporting. Effectively leads and manages the Total Rewards/HCMS Team.
Partners with HR Business Partners and IESO management to leverage compensation and benefits programs to meet organizational objectives,
Provides support and education to management and employees to ensure full understanding of compensation, pension, benefits and recognition programs,
Advises HR Business Partners and managers on the interpretation and application of plan provisions,
Provides leadership and direction to the Total Rewards/HCMS Team, including recognizing and developing the potential of others and developing successors,
Leads the design and administration of cash compensation programs including base salaries, variable pay, merit pay, market analysis and compensation planning,
Analyzes current rewards programs to ensure they align with business strategy and to ensure that rewards programs enhance workforce productivity and optimize the ability to attract top talent,
Analyzes market competitiveness and cost-effectiveness of compensation, pension and benefit programs,
Leads the development and management of HCMS systems to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities,
Maintains current knowledge of related legislation and regulations, and fulfills compliance and reporting requirements,
Oversees the procurement and management of related vendor relationships and contracts,
Provides data and analysis to support collective bargaining, and participates as a member of the IESO’s bargaining committee,
A member of the HR Leaders Team, participates in the formulation, development and implementation of HR strategies, policies and programs,
Participates in the formulation, implementation and administration of sound processes, procedures and best practices across all areas of human resources, and Creates a culture within areas of responsibility that is motivated to improve processes, increase efficiency and effectively manage the cost of administration.
Undergraduate degree, preferably in Human Resources or related field (e.g. Business Administration, Finance, etc.) required; graduate degree is an asset,
Professional designation is strongly preferred (e.g. CPP, CHRL),
8 -12 years of related total rewards experience, with 3- 5 years in supervisory/management roles,
Experience in a unionized environment,
Knowledge of total rewards and human resources management theories, principles, policies and best practices,
Current knowledge of related legislation, regulations and trends,
Excellent influencing, relationship building, business acumen, client focus, decision making, organizational, communication, numeric and analytical skills,
The ability to build and lead high-performing teams, and Adaptability, flexibility, and ability to deal with ambiguity.
