John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital (JHSH) of Cook County is the flagship of the Cook County Health & Hospitals System. The Level 1 Trauma Center is one of the most respected in the nation. The hospital treats over 150,000 emergency room patients annually. It is home to more than 300 attending physicians along with more than 400 medical residents and fellows.
Interventional Cardiologists are highly trained physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and management of heart disease and perform diagnostic and interventional procedures on the heart and the blood vessels. They work alongside internal medicine providers, pediatricians, cardiac surgeons and other specialists to care for patients. Physicians trained in adult cardiology care for people over the age of eighteen (18).
Must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited Medical School
Must be licensed as a physician in good standing in the State of Illinois.
Must have valid Illinois controlled Substance license and Federal DEA License
Must be Board eligible/certified in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.
Must be familiar with healthcare standards of care and regulatory issues.
Two (2) years of experience as a practicing attending interventional cardiologist
Experience and training peripheral vascular interventions
Experience and training in structural heart disease interventions
American College of Cardiology Core Cardiovascular Training Statement (COCATS) level 2 training and board certification in echocardiography from the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE)
American College of Cardiology Core Cardiovascular Training Statement (COCATS) level 2 training and board certification in nuclear cardiology from the National Board of Nuclear Cardiology (NBNC)
American College of Cardiology Core Cardiovascular Training Statement (COCATS) level 2 training and board certification in cardiac computed tomography from the Certification Board of Cardiac Computer Tomography (CBCCT)
