Candidates with a strong orientation to Generalist Advanced Practice are encouraged to apply. Applicants seeking to fill the Associate Professor position must have leadership skills and be prepared to serve as the Program Director of bachelor, master, and doctoral social work programs.
The appointment at the Assistant Professor rank requires completion of a Master of Social Work from CSWE accredited institution with a doctoral degree in social work is preferred; a doctorate in a related field will be considered. The appointment at the Associate Professor rank requires completion of a Master of Social Work from a CSWE accredited institution and a doctoral degree in social work.
The University of Massachusetts Boston is a research-intensive institution and offers faculty the opportunity to teach and conduct research in a diverse urban setting. The successful candidate at the rank of Assistant Professor will be expected to develop an externally-funded program of research; at the Associate Professor level, the successful candidate must have a demonstrated record of externally funded research, and a very strong scholarly record.
