The Compensation Department is currently looking for a Compensation Specialist. Your ability to focus on the big picture without losing sight of the details will underpin your success in handling a variety of compensation and classification tasks as part of LCBO’s Corporate HR Services – from research and analysis to implementation and administration.
With a knowledge base in compensation and classification encompassing HRIS systems and Pay Equity legislation, you will conduct market research in collaboration with various comp survey firms, and both private and public sector companies. Completing compensation surveys, year-end processes, analysing data, preparing reports on trends, and participating in position classification and analysis will be at the heart of this role. Your expertise as a Compensation Specialist will also enable you to provide invaluable support in year-end processes, Pay Equity plan implementation and maintenance and other compensation-related functions on behalf of the Compensation Department.

In-depth knowledge of compensation and classification acquired through a post-secondary education and experience in the compensation field.
Demonstrated experience working with the Hay Job Evaluation System and other evaluation systems and philosophies.
Working knowledge of HRIS systems.
Advanced ability to generate queries and reports using Excel and Access.
Excellent research, analytical and reporting skills.
Advanced skills using Internet and PowerPoint applications.
Knowledge of Pay Equity legislation.
Proven ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail.
Self-motivation and ability to work independently.
Project management skills and ability to multi-task.
