Incentive Design Consultant - Compensation Sr. Consultant Preferred locations: Minneapolis, MN; Charlotte, NC; San Francisco, CA; San Antonio, TX. However, other locations may be considered for this opportunity.
The Senior Compensation Consultant is responsible for acting as an incentive design process and strategy subject matter expert (SME) to support the ongoing Enterprise incentive design process. The individual will partner closely with the applicable Compensation Consultants who lead the design efforts for individual incentive plans, and will consult on the design process itself, as well as design best practice and guidelines. They will also serve as a control point to ensure adherence to the Enterprise design standards and guidelines. The individual may assist with or conduct necessary incentive analytics, modeling, and scenario testing to ensure a sound plan design. This role is primarily focused on support of Consumer Lending, Wealth & Investment Management (WIM), and Enterprise Function Groups (EFG). This individual will work closely with business aligned Compensation, the business, Finance, and HR leadership to ensure incentive compensation programs enable the business to meet their business objectives, comply with evolving compensation regulation, and deliver on the team member value proposition. This is a key position with the opportunity to shape incentive designs critical to the Company s success during a period of meaningful change.
The individual will be responsible for participating in projects and initiatives with a team comprised of indirect reports. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with extensive incentive design experience, outstanding strategic and problem solving skills, knowledge about the economics and risk profiles of Wells Fargo s businesses, has demonstrated a proven ability to lead and influence across matrixed teams in a large company, has strong interpersonal skills, and has demonstrated strong results leading a similar function.

4+ years of consulting experience in compensation, human resources, accounting, or finance
Extensive formulaic/non-discretionary incentive plan design, implementation, and governance experience for a variety of roles (e.g. sales reps, call center reps
3+ years of experience with incentive plan design, analytics, and administration
Prior experience working with a Lending or Wealth Management area of a Financial Institution
Incentive plan design, implementation, and governance experience, preferably in the financial services industry
Experience with variable and incentive compensation
Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
Ability to drive and lead organizational change in a dynamic environment
Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements surrounding incentive compensation and risk management
Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
Superior project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
A BS/BA degree or higher
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
