Generous Vacation time and Comprehensive Benefits The primary role: Clinical Director, Osteopathic Physician to manage and plan how services delivered and contribute to the process of strategic planning, influencing and responding to organizational priorities. This will involve responsibility for creating an annual Whole Health System Strategic Plan, identifying Whole Health system development priorities, and working with the Executive Team/ appropriate Service level chiefs, and program coordinator and whole health steering committee. Perform osteopathic manipulative treatment. Incorporate mind, body and spirit. Emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between practitioner and patient, informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapies. Plan and direct the educational and clinical experience of any potential medical students, residents, and fellows assigned to the Whole Health System. Assume a leadership role in the development and implementation of the Whole Health System's performance improvement plan. Advocate for the Whole Health System with VHA leadership and the medical community. Jointly select Whole Health System team members. Providing clinical input and oversight for all patient treatment plans. Being readily available to the team members for collaboration when medical or other problems arise. Participating in Whole Health System team meetings. Keeping the Whole Health System team apprised of medical care advances and practice standards. The Clinical Director occupies the lead management role within the Whole Health System. Each member of staff has a reporting relationship, through their line supervisor, to the Clinical Director. Development and implementation of measures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the designated areas of responsibility. Supporting clinical training and continuing professional development throughout the Whole Health System team in line with personal and professional development plans and organizational/clinical need. Working closely with management team colleagues and senior clinicians on the recruitment of permanent, temporary and locum staff. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm OR 10 hour shifts. Mandatory Requirements: U.S. citizenship Board certified/ eligible Osteopathic Physician experience. Current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any state, territory or commonwealth or District of Columbia in the United StatesMaintain continuing medical education and required certifications, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). Degree of Doctor from the American Osteopathic Association Occasional travel - Occasional Travel for program conferences. Preferred Qualifications: Medical Acupuncture and Osteopathic Manipulation experience and qualifications are preferred as those services are desired to be offered through the program this position is intended to manage - energetic, intelligent, professional who interacts well with Veterans and staff.
