The Report Developer will act as a liaison with various business groups in the organization to facilitate implementation of new or improved reporting processes and access to data. This position will design and construct dashboards and reports to meet the needs of the business and support strategic initiatives. In addition, this position will utilize SQL to research data requirements and identify data to be loaded to the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
Essential Job Functions
Consult with departments across the organization to understand, document and analyze business needs and translate requirements into analytic and reporting solutions
Conceptualize, design, create and support the implementation of analytics, reports and dashboards for business partners
Analyze legacy system data to identify the most accurate data sources and ensure use of standardized values, formats, definitions, metrics and business rules in reporting and analytics
Assist with mapping data elements into the Enterprise Data Warehouse and implement production reports
Maintain the company's business glossary and promote its use as the basis for validated attributes and metrics
Conduct validation and testing of reports, dashboards and analytics to ensure consistent and accurate reporting across the organization
Follow team procedures and standards related to reporting and ad-hoc analysis to improve data accuracy, visibility and value
Support ongoing reporting processes
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills
Ability to write and amend SQL queries to access complex data sources
Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Ability to identify opportunities for improvement
Self-motivated and able to multitask, coordinate and prioritize concurrent tasks
Ability to successfully function in a high pressure, fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner
Ideal candidate will possess a passion for business intelligence, analytics and visual design concepts
Background in designing and implementing complex and visually compelling reports and dashboards
Experience with MicroStrategy or other BI tool
Knowledge of data mining and advanced reporting techniques
Experience with master data management and data governance
