As part of the Strategic Programs organization and Business Enablement team, the Associate Director – Governance will act as a key member of a major business and technology transformation initiative, and will be empowered to support short and long term operational / strategic business activities, develop, enhance and maintain program and operational information that will have an impact on critical business decisions. This role will be responsible for creation and management of the Polaris Governance Process, ensuring an initiative intake, feasibility and prioritization process is defined and implemented whereby initiatives are considered and evaluated based on specified criteria in support of Polaris, an enterprise-wide effort to simplify and modernize our business and technology—allowing us to deliver a better experience to members, customers and providers, and support the company's commitment to quality and growth.Primary Responsibilities: Define and ensure implementation of a Governance and Intake strategy across the program.Partner with teams across the program to define and implement a common framework and methodology to successfully manage and execute governance activities for a significant transformation initiative.Plan and coordinate completion of assigned business enablement and strategic planning objectives, ensuring consistency in format, methodology, design and approach across functions and teams.Successfully liaise with program and operational team members (business & technology) to ensure objectives are driven forward. Facilitate teamwork, trust and collaboration around priorities, business solutions/options and decisionsBecome the Governance and Intake expert, understanding industry trends along with internal customer requirementsDevelop the Governance and Intake initiative future roadmap and make recommendations to senior leadership for the desired future stateWork with business partners to develop and maintain a program-wide Governance and Intake processDirect teams to ensure consistency and standardization in adherence to the Governance and intake process.Develop and foster trusted partnerships across business and technology to obtain data and informationIdentify, evaluate and propose mitigation of potential risks to Business Enablement and ImplementationWork in conjunction with other parts of the Strategic Programs and Business Enablement team for leverage, efficiencies and high quality resultsServes as a key resource to program and business leadership on complex and/or critical initiativesSolves complex problems and develops innovative solutionsTranslates concepts into practicePossesses a broad business approachParticipates in the development of business strategyDevelops and manages plans to achieve objectivesTranslates concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiencesInfluences cross-functional teams to adopt new ideas and/or approaches
Required Qualifications:A BA/ BS Degree (or higher) in Business, Healthcare or related field7+ years of relevant experience in program/project management and/or business analysis 4+ years of experience in healthcare industriesExperience managing strategic initiatives and implementing new programs.Superior knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Access (development and maintenance,) Excel, Word, Visio and Power PointStrong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skillsExperience working with diverse teams of business users in customer organizations Ability to learn complex material quickly, allocate time efficiently; handle multiple projects and deliverables concurrently managing competing prioritiesChange and conflict management skills, ability to influence and negotiate with others to meet project deadlinesAbility to understand the underlying business model and question / challenge others to think through the problems, improvement opportunities, solutions, and plans Experience in complex, matrix organizations; knows how to get things done both through formal channels and the informal network Demonstrated ability to work productively and proactively in a dynamic, fast paced and constantly changing environment Proven ability to influence course of action when others are directly accountable for outcome, including cross - functional teams Preferred Qualifications:Proven experience in development or management of a Project Intake processProven experience in Agile / Scrum product development environments Demonstrated ability to communicate complex or technical information clearly and concisely, and in a manner that others can understand for the better.
