We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Analyst.
Position Summary: In this role, the Financial Analyst will be responsible to plan, coordinate and implement an asset management system for the accurate accounting, reporting, controlling and safeguarding of the Medical Center's fixed assets. This position will work very closely with the Capital Operations & Data Integrity Groups and learn the asset management process so that this function can be in sourced. The Financial Analyst will also need to learn how to use the Peoplesoft fixed asset management module and also Project Costing Module. This position will also be a key member of the Peoplesoft Asset management team and oversee the data governance of all information being entered into the new system. This position will also be part of the Medical Center Disaster Recovery team and be responsible for updating the asset tracking databases for all building, building improvements, equipment and other contents that were lost or impaired during Superstorm Sandy.
Plans, coordinates and promotes the Medical Centers fixed asset physical inventory process.
Coordinates, updates, and maintains the tracking database for new and existing capital and non-capital fixed assets including asset identification tagging, location identification, physical counts, and departmental asset custodian.
Conducts periodic and annual fixed asset inventories and coordinates campus asset physical inventories with campus managers.
Coordinates transfer of equipment with the Real Estate department or the respective operating area and updates the asset management module with each transfer.
Assists the fixed asset accountants in reconciling the fixed asset module with the fixed asset general ledger, and coordinates any variances with the fixed asset accounting staff.
Provides assistance with the implementation of processes in relation to fixed asset safeguarding.
Assists with the development of written processes and procedures for identifying, tracking, transferring, reporting and as requested disposing of fixed assets.
Identifies existing assets without identification tagging numbers, assigns new identification numbers, and posts the newly identifiable assets to the asset module.
Supplies information for inventory reports as well as other inventory reports and records.
Provides cross training to relevant staff in relation to fixed asset processes and procedures as required.
Assist Capital Operations and Data Integrity Groups with coordinating, updating, and maintaining the Medical Center asset tracking database.
Learn how to operate and maintain the Medical Center's Asset Management module
Maintain the data governance of all information being entered into the tracking module.
Serve on the Peoplesoft Asset Management implementation team and perform tasks and duties as assigned by the Project Leader.
Assist the Medical Center Disaster recovery team with updating the asset tracking databases for all building, building improvements, equipment and other contents that were lost of impaired during Superstorm Sandy.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree with a major in a business, accounting or legal/contract management at least two to three years of business experience with strong knowledge of asset management and business operations.
Preferred Qualifications: The incumbent is expected to conduct him/herself in a professional manner. The incumbent should possess qualities of timeliness, respect and customer service.
