To conduct the strength and conditioning program for all intercollegiate athletic teams training in the Athletic Performance Center, in a safe and professional manner, and within all rules and regulations of Miami University, the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and other appropriate governing bodies (i.e. Mid-American Conference, NCHC and USFSA).
This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
Direct and supervise the administration and organization of the Athletic Performance Center Strength and Conditioning program, to include: a. Design and implement of scientific based, sports specific speed, strength and conditioning programs for all male and female student athletes representing Miami University’s intercollegiate athletic teams assigned to train in the Athletic Performance Center (specifically football). b. Schedule and supervision of the Athletic Performance Center Athletic Strength and Conditioning Facilities c. Develop and maintain athletic strength and conditioning facilities and equipment housed in the Athletic Performance Center. d. Participate in department activities, including service on committees and attendance at all scheduled meetings e. Understand and apply all NCAA rules and regulations that apply to the areas of strength and conditioning f. Perform any and all administrative duties required g. Responsible for hiring a staff of qualified assistants, who in collaboration with the head coaches will develop programming that addresses each team’s needs assigned to the Athletic Performance Center. h. Oversee the Athletic Performance Center day-to-day operation of the strength and conditioning program including maintenance, ordering of appropriate supplies, general maintenance of the weight room, scheduling of staff, students and interns. i. Required to maintain scheduled office hours to supervise all intercollegiate workouts. This includes maintenance of detailed records of lifting sessions performed by student-athletes in accordance with normal strength and conditioning program protocol. j. Perform other duties as assigned by senior administration.
